If you want to satisfy your sweet tooth but you don’t want to consume too many calories, this is the sweet for you. Beautiful apples, raisins and walnuts with a little brown sugar and cinnamon make a sweet that’s full of goodness and full of taste. You can use any kind of apples you like, and one apple per person should be enough.
Ingredients 4 apples 1 ½ teaspoonfuls raisins per apple 1 ½ teaspoonfuls walnuts cut in small pieces per apple 1 teaspoonful brown sugar per apple 2 teaspoonfuls cinnamon ½ – 1 teaspoonful margarine per apple Juice of 1 one large orange Yogurt
Directions
Wash and carefully core the apples. Place them in a small pan. Put the raisins, walnuts, brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and mix. Take spoonfuls of the mixture and press it in the hollow centers of the apples. If you wish you can scatter walnuts and raisins round the apples. Squeeze the orange and drizzle the juice over the apples. Put ½ a teaspoon, or as much as you like, margarine over the stuffing of the apples. Bake at 180oC for about 45 minutes or until the apples are soft.
Let them cool a little. Serve the apples with a large dollop of yogurt, drizzle some of the syrup from the pan together with the raisins and walnuts over the yogurt. Sprinkle some cinnamon. A dollop of ice-cream wouldn’t be at all bad of course!
