An all time favorite comfort food, liked by young and old alike. Easy and quick to make, helps you put dinner on the table in no time at all. It is also very versatile and you can add or subtract ingredients according to your liking. It can also become a very tasty vegetarian dish if you use soya mince instead of meat. If you wish, you can also use half meat and half soya mince.

Ingredients
500 gr. minced meat (beef, pork or half and half)
½ cup white wine
1 large onion chopped
2 cloves garlic minced
3 – 4 tablespoonfuls olive oil
3 large ripe tomatoes chopped or grated
1 cinnamon stick
¼ teaspoon allspice
Pinch oregano
Salt, pepper

1 packet spaghetti
salt
2 tablespoonfuls margarine or butter
Grated cheese

Directions

Put the oil in a frying pan and add the meat and the onion. Sauté them for about 10 minutes. Add the wine and when it evaporates, add all the other ingredients. Simmer for about 30 to 45 minutes, until the minced meat is done and the sauce has thickened.

If you wish you can add mushrooms, grated carrot, grated zucchini, parsley or anything else you fancy.

In the meantime bring to the boil a pot with water, add some salt and boil the spaghetti until it is al dente. Strain it. Put the margarine or butter in the pot to melt, and add the spaghetti. Toss it well.

Serve some spaghetti on a plate and top it with some minced meat sauce. A generous sprinkling of grated cheese adds the final touch.
