Spices lose their aroma, potency and flavour is they are stored in a place with humidity, light and of course heat. Don’t store your spices at the most convenient place – that is above your stove. The fridge is not an ideal place either, owing to the humidity. Place them in a cupboard that is removed from the source of heat and light.

Usually, herbs and ground spices will retain their flavour for one to two years. Whole spices could last for 3 to 5 years. With proper storage you will be able to enjoy your spices much longer.
