A steamer platform that fits in almost any pot is great for steaming your vegetables. A proper steamer is great, because it even has a special container for rice. The vegetables retain their vitamins when steamed, and they are not thrown away with the water. Be careful how long you steam them, because they should be crisp but tender. You can make a beautiful salad with steamed vegetables – broccoli, cauliflower, potatoes, carrots and anything else you like. When cooked, place them on a plate sprinkle a little bit of salt, and drizzle virgin olive oil and freshly squeezed lemon juice over them. It is a dish fit for a king!
